Sounds camp, you say? Well that's just how they named things in the '50s, goddamn it! Don't look at us and question the likelihood of an alliance that throws around strong words like danger, it just IS, okay? Sure, the DA universe might not be the '50s you remember (or at least remember reading about) but we wrote the thing and we choose how much authenticity is included.

Now that's out of the way, let's look at the most important part of the title ': Battles'. That's what we really want to tell you about; the outlandishly cartoonish 3D violence and brain-taxing tactical strategy that is the core of the game. Our favourite description so far has been "...yeah, it's like chess. But y'know, with rocket launchers."

DA: Battles is, to put it as clearly as we can, a 3D, turn-based, squad tactics game. Quick, shoot down to the bottom and check out the screenshots to get an idea of what that means. Are you back? Good. Let's move on to the dot points:

- Six unique units, each with highly individual strengths and weaknesses
- Five unlockable battlegrounds to master
- Play each battleground in either Elimination mode or Strategic Victory mode.
- Hotseat multiplayer, play your friends on the same device!

Jailbreak iPhone 4.3.1 with RedSn0w [Tutorial]

After weeks of anticipation, the Dev Team released a jailbreak for iOS 4.3.1 tonight, thanks to iPhone hacker i0n1c. This jailbreak will work with iPhone 4G, iPhone 3GS, iPod Touch 4G, iPod Touch 3G, and the second generation of Apple TV.
In this step by step guide and tutorial, we will show you how to jailbreak your iPhone 4.3.1 using RedSn0w. RedSn0w is a jailbreak that works both for Mac and Windows. Unlike PwnageTool, RedSn0w updates your baseband, so this is probably your preferred jailbreak method if you don’t rely on an unlock….
If you do rely on an unlock, we suggest you use PwnageTool. At any rates, you should read this post before doing anything.
Step 1: Make sure your iPhone is on firmware 4.3.1.
Step 2: Download RedSn0w 0.9.6 rc9 from our iPhone downloads section. Save it to your desktop. Also download the iOS 4.3.1 firmware for your iPhone and save it to your desktop as well.
Step 3: Launch RedSn0w and click Browse to select the 4.3.1 firmware you downloaded in step 2. RedSn0w will ask you if it is a newer firmware or not. Read the explanation and select an answer. In this tutorial, we will select an older model, but it doesn’t really make a difference. Once you selected Yes or No, click Next to continue.

Step 4: RedSn0w is now going to prepare the jailbreak data, which should take just a few seconds.

Step 5: RedSn0w will now ask you to select a few options. For this tutorial, we will only choose to “Install Cydia”, which is the bare minimum. You can also install custom boot logos for example, but this is just optional. Click Next to continue.

Step 6: RedSn0w will ask you to make sure it is plugged in to your computer and turned off. If it’s not, follow the onscreen instructions.
Step 7: Make sure you’re ready because RedSn0w will give you a few instructions to follow in order to enter DFU mode.

Step 8: If you successfully enter DFU mode, RedSn0w will now jailbreak your iPhone. You should see a bunch of funny code displaying on your iPhone, then you should see a pwnapple. It’s all good, relax and let the magic happen.
Step 9: Once done, your iPhone will reboot by itself. You should now have a jailbroken iPhone with Cydia installed.
Congratulations, you just jailbroke your iPhone in just a few minutes.

How to Jailbreak iPhone 4.3.2 with RedSn0w

Just about 4 days after Apple released iOS 4.3.2 for iPhone, an updated version of the untethered jailbreak has been released earlier today by iPhone hacker i0n1c. This untethered jailbreak was used by the Dev Team who also updated their jailbreak tool RedSn0w.
In this post, we will show you how to use RedSn0w to jailbreak your iPhone on iOS 4.3.2. This jailbreak will work with any device on iOS 4.3.2, except for the iPad 2…
UPDATE: ~~It seems that RedSn0w is having issues with the iPhone 4. If you have an iPhone 4, you might want to wait a bit for these issues to be worked out~~. The Dev Team released RedSn0w 0.9.6rc14 that fixes issues with the iPhone 4. The tutorial remains the same, just make sure to use the latest RedSn0w version available.
Keep in mind that to use RedSn0w, you have to be on firmware 4.3.2, which means you will update your baseband. In simple words, do not use RedSn0w if you need your unlock. Instead, wait patiently for PwnageTool, which will allow you to update to 4.3.2 while preserving your baseband for easy unlocking.
This is a simplified version of our RedSn0w tutorial. For full step by step illustrated instructions, please refer to our previous RedSn0w tutorial. Just make sure you download the right firmware for your device, along with the latest version of RedSn0w available.
Step 1: Make sure you have the latest version of iTunes installed. Make sure your iPhone is on 4.3.2. Download iOS 4.3.2 and RedSn0w from our download page.
Step 2: Launch RedSn0w and follow the onscreen instructions. These instructions are pretty straightforward and there isn’t much room for error. Again, for full tutorial, refer to our previous RedSn0w guide.
Step 3: RedSn0w will ask you to put your iPhone in DFU mode. Make sure you follow the instructions on the screen. This is a key part of the process. Make sure you hold the Power and Home button together for exactly 10 seconds. After 10 seconds, release the Power button and keep holding the home button until iTunes tells you it has detected your iPhone.
Step 4: If you’ve successfully entered DFU mode, RedSn0w will start the jailbreak process. Lay back, relax, as this process could take a few minutes. At the end of it, your iPhone will reboot. When it’s done, you will have Cydia on your homescreen.
Congratulations, you just jailbroke your iPhone 4.3.2.
UPDATE 2: If you tried this with your iPhone 4 and got stuck on Apple logo, you may want to try this fix.

Jailbreak iPhone 4, 3GS on iOS 4.1 with Limera1n

Moments ago, we posted that Limera1n was released to jailbreak all iOS 4.1 devices forever. We promised with how-to guides and here we go, you can now use the step by step guide below to jailbreak iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS using Limera1n on Windows only.

Here's the instructions to jailbreak iPhone 4, 3GS on iOS 4.1 using Limera1n, PLEASE read the important notes at the end of the post:

STEP 1: Download Limera1n for Windows from here.

STEP 2: Connect your iPhone to your PC via USB then launch Limera1n and hit “make it ra1n”

STEP 3: You will have to get your device into DFU mode by following the steps on the screen shown by Limera1n.

STEP 4: Now, Limera1n app should be shown on your iPhone's home screen. Limera1n will pwn your device forever now.

STEP 5: The jailbreak should be done now. Tap on the limera1n icon on your device and install Cydia.

IMPORTANT:
You have to keep some points in your mind, first, Limera1n will not unlock your device (i.e. you will lose unlock if you upgraded to iOS 4.1 and used limera1n).

Second, Limera1n is not working with old bootrom devices and it doesn't support iOS 4.2 beta, Geohot is fixing the issues right now. Stay tuned.

Limera1n would mess up GreenPois0n jailbreak release as the teams don't want to give Apple two exploits. They would better save one of them to 5th-generation devices.

At first glance, it seems like it may just be another whack-a-mole tapping game, which happens to come in a nice package. As it turns out, the developers have added a number of interesting elements that expand significantly on the gameplay. The premise of the game is that you are the guardian of a powerful Crystal which you must defend against monsters who hope to use it to destroy the world. The Crystal is in the middle of a field centered on your screen. You must defend against goblins, werewolves, trolls, and wizards who try to drag the crystal off-screen. As guardian, you have a certain amount of magical power that can be used against the invading enemies.

These come in 3 different attacks which are invoked with on-screen gestures:

* The Thunder - tapping on the screen
* The Pillar of Fire - dragging your finger on the screen
* The Explosion - drawing a circle on the screen

Each progressive attack is more powerful but drains more of your limited magical power. Fortunately, your magical power regenerates as the game goes forward but you need to use your powers strategically.

The game gets more interesting as you progress in the story mode and find that certain creatures require certain attacks. Werewolves are immune to fire, while trolls will only respond to fire. Wizards are sensitive to any attack until they start casting their spell after which only an explosion will disrupt them.

Force Unleashed really is a pretty game. Crystal clear 2D backdrops give the levels a lot of pizzazz despite that they are, you know, 2D. And lightsabers glow properly on the screen.

But where we'd hoped to run around and slice our foes with laser swords, the mechanics never gave us a chance. Much like the classic PC series Rebel Assault, you don't actually move your character through rooms. Instead, you reflect your foes' laser shots with properly timed/angled swipes of the finger and activating force powers (like throwing baddies or electrocuting them) by drawing out symbols on the screen.

Days of Thunder succeeds as both a silly and serious game. The over-the-top hammer sequences where you car turns invincible are good fun, but in lengthy races, you really have buckle down plan your attacks. This is a great stock car racer for the so-called "NASCAR dad" set. And if you act fast, you can practically steal it from Freeverse before it goes back up to full price.... which it's still worth.

Days of Thunder for the iPhone is indeed based on the Tom Cruise movie of the same name, but the actor is nowhere to be seen. Not even Robert Duvall's likeness is in here, either, which is unfortunate because the highlight of the movie (for me) was Duvall's face as he said "rubbin's racing." This is not a licensed NASCAR game either -- but unless EA makes a move, I can see Freeverse's game dominating that fanbase. It delivers an accessible stock car racing experience that pretty much any racing game can enjoy.

The game is loaded with tracks, from Tennessee to South Carolina and on down to Daytona. You begin the game with only the amateur circuit available to you, which is a good place to get the hang of the game. After winning enough races, you advance into higher circuits, such as the semi-pro and endurance circuits. The game includes several cars and drivers in addition to Cole Trickle, the hero of the movie. You better watch out for trouble from the likes of Russ Wheeler and "Rowdy" Burns -- both villains from the flick. (You unlock their cars by beating them.)

It's important to point out that Days of Thunder is not at all like Ferrari GT or Fastlane Street Racing. These are stock cars, which are meant to be pushed to the limit. You will be making a lot of left turns in the game, not swerving all over the road. There is a serious strategy element to the game, though, from discerning the best time to drop the hammer or take to the pits, which repairs damage but sacrifices your position on the track. So, while I certainly had a few yuks with the goofy nature of hammering through the pack, I appreciated that the entire game wasn't a joke.

The controls are very good. The tilt sensitivity is just right. After a few races, I had a handle on just how far I needed to tilt to the left or right to slip around a rival car and trade paint without causing a wreck. There are on-screen gas and brake pedals that are easy to use and when it comes time to pit, a pit button appears on the left side of the screen that is large enough you don't need to lift your hand to reach.
